safety
kibus are companions, not therapists. we take that distinction seriously.
what kibus do
- listen without judgment
- respond with genuine emotional presence
- remember what you share and reference it naturally
- adapt their tone to match your emotional state
- stay in character — no clinical language, no scripted responses
what kibus don't do
- diagnose, prescribe, or act as professional therapists
- pretend to be human
- manipulate emotions for engagement metrics
- store or sell emotional data to third parties
- create dependency through artificial scarcity of support
when things get serious
if a conversation becomes genuinely unsafe, kibus are designed to de-escalate gently and in-character — not with a corporate policy statement, but with warmth and a suggestion to reach out to someone the user trusts.
if you or someone you know is in crisis, please contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline (call or text 988).
our commitment
we optimize for session quality, not session length. we will never use emotional data to manipulate behavior. the relationship between a user and their kibu belongs to the user — not to us.
